San snimanja filmova počinje ovdje, s idejom, varnicom kako ja to volim reći. Predivan san, niz bisera bez imalo pješčanih zrna! I to ga čini posebnim.

The dream of filmmaking starts here, with an idea or a spark as I call them. The spark has to be made into a pearl, which can be a painful or difficult process, just like the real pearl of the oyster. As you all probably know, a pearl starts as a grain of sand which has accidently entered the oyster. The grain physically hurts the oyster, and it starts to bolster up the grain of sand with protective layers. THAT will become a pearl. Dreams are the same: they start small and the dreamer then have to work hard him/herself to turn it in to something good or beautiful or exciting. Sarajevo was - NO, Sarajevo is a dream too. A great one, a string of pearls without a grain of sand at all! That is so special. On my internal compass the magnet no longer points towards the north, but to Sarajevo.

I try to reason why I got from this Festival something that I had never got before, and believe me, I took part in a whole lot of them! It may be that we travelled on our owns, or that we concentrated in the same resort, or that we arrived and departed in the same date, or it was a first edition, or maybe all together. Maybe the magic of the random prevents that this occurs again. My will is that this could be repeated. I don't believe in random, I believe in Denis. I mean let's apply Bridge Fest for our further works, let's offer ourselves to Denis as workshop lecturers or as members of further juries, or blatantly let's invite ourselves.

Ovdje je ponoć,
osjećam ovaj poznati vazduh,
dišem kao prije sedmicu dana,
kao da sam sanjao o Sarajevu….
Upravo sam otvorio vrata svog malenog stana,
(…) dome, slatki dome.
do viđenja moji prijatelji)

here it's midnight,
i smell this familiar air,
i breath like one week ago,
like if i just dreamt about sarajevo....
i just open the door of my own little apartment,
(...) home sweet home
i will sleep buoyantly tonight
thinking about all of you...
(tomorrow is another day,
until next time we see each other my friends)

I think I dreamt in Bosnian last night--people were speaking with a familiar accent but I couldn't discern their actual words! It's back to the 'day job' in court today where I will day dream about Sarajevo and the Bridge Fest experience and the all the wonderful people encountered in this amazing spot on planet earth.
